Characteristics:
La Route du Rock is a French pop and electronic
festival which has existed for eleven years. The site is intself quite
alluring since it takes place in an ancient fort near the seaside resort
of Saint Malo (Brittany). During three days in the middle of August, about
20.000 people come from all parts of France and Europe to see confirmed
and new bands all in the forefront of the musical actuality. Portishead,
Blur, PJ Harvey, Placebo, Death In Vegas, Asian Dub Foundation, Gonzales,
Pulp, Mogwaï, Muse, Goldfrapp, Frank Black & The Catholics,(...)
have all come there to play in the previous years. French bands are also
given an important place since it has been the occasion for Yann Tiersen,
Miossec, Louise Attaque, Rachid Taha, Laurent Garnier and Zend Avesta (Arnaud
Rebotini) to give great performances.
